Dr. Paola Fuentes Rivera Carmelo holds a medical doctorate degree from the Ricardo Palma University. She completed the specialization of Radiation Oncology at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas (INEN), Lima-Peru, in 2010, graduating from the San MartĂn de Porres University (USMP). She completed her postgraduate studies in Master of Medicine with a major in Radiotherapy at USMP in 2016 and the specialization in Health Management from the ESAN University and ESAN Graduate School of Business in 2021.
She has worked as a radiation oncologist since 2013 at INEN and since 2022 she is the Executive Director of the Radiotherapy Department at INEN. She is the project lead counterpart for a regional technical cooperation project of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Dr. Fuentes Rivera Carmelo has participated in the development of guidelines and management protocols for different oncological pathologies, and in different scientific events and conferences as an organizer and speaker. She is the author and co- author of scientific articles in many journals of national and international renown.
She is a member of the scientific societies Peruvian Society of Mastology, Peruvian Society of Cancerology, Founding Member of the Radiotherapy Society of Peru, and a full member of the Latin American Association of Oncological Radiation Therapy (ALATRO).
