Dr. Senlin Liu is Chief Expert of China National Nuclear Corporation (CNNC) and former Vice President of China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE).
From 1983 to 1987, he studied nuclear physics in Sichuan University, China and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree. From 1993 to 1996 and 1996-2002, he studied in the CIAE and obtained his master's degree in engineering and Doctor's degree in engineering in radiation protection and environmental protection, respectively.
Dr. Liu has worked in the field of nuclear safety and radiation safety for more than 30 years and has made some important achievements in public exposure assessment methodology and its models, emergency radiation monitoring and rapid assessment, and Chinese radiation level research, etc. At present, he is mainly engaged in the monitoring and evaluation of internal exposure to occupational workers, the evaluation of public dose based on environmental monitoring data, and the basic research for application of Artificial Intelligence into the protection and safety in nuclear industry.
Dr. Liu is member of the Main Commission of the International Commission on Radiological Protection and he has been involved in activities of the UNSCEAR as a member of Chinese Delegation since 2005. He is the Representative of China to UNSCEAR since the sixty-sixth session in 2019.
